Winter Fishing on the Truckee River

Winter fishing in the Truckee area can be good, very good!  Everyone is out on the slopes enjoying the snow that we haven’t had in a few years, so now is the time to fish and enjoy some solitude on the river.  Flows on the Truckee are looking great!  We actually have some quality water flowing and the trout are happy!  Through town we are looking at 60 cfs and through Hirschdale canyon is about 250 cfs.  Big fish still have to eat daily to maintain their metabolism.  With that in mind, get a good drift and you will be rewarded!  My winter rates ($225 half day/ $325 full day) are in effect through April 1.  If your looking to avoid the ski slopes, come out and wet a line! The California side is fishing very well at the moment, give me a call to book today!
