Truckee River Chocolate Milk

The Truckee River looks like some Lucerne Chocolate Milk.  The flows peaked at 2170 cfs which is great to clean out the river and get a healthy flush.  On the other hand, this last storm didn’t dump much snow down low, so the snow pack is still fragile.  The ski resorts got some much needed snow, but we could always use more! After these flows drop to fishable levels (below 600 cfs) the bite should be on! Try fishing a winter stone pattern, golden stone, baetis, SJ, or a midge (go small).Saturday, I went out to a local tailwater that rarely blows out, to try my luck.  Some very nice fish were landed, some were lost.  This weekend is a prime opportunity to get a bent rod!
